2013 BMW 7-series

2013 BMW 7-series

Current 7 was introduced, and has since bought a BMW, in which investment is designed, built, or invented so much more, uh, stuff. It's all for the 7-series went this summer along with some very subtle visual changes.

New engines for all, with the exception of the billionaires

Unlike the V-12-powered 760Li any 7-series model is to see significant upgrades for its powertrain. The 750i (and long-wheelbase 750Li) even with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8, but BMW has its Valvetronic variable valve control system was added to this engine. It helps pump output from last year 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque to 445 and 480

The six-cylinder 740i and 740Li models were also sent to the operating room, emerging underhood with the newer version of turbocharged inline six-cylinder BMW. Power and torque stays at 315 hp and 330 lb-ft, but BMW says that it expects the single-turbo N55 engine to improve the fuel efficiency of the outgoing twin-turbo N54. BMW has replaced almost every N54 in its lineup with the N55 in the past year or so, but we noticed no major fuel economy improvements in the cars that we have tested.

Each 7-series model-yes, even the V-12 cars now. Via an eight-speed automatic in place of the six-speed boxes There are some other, less headline worthy upgrades, the eight-and six-cylinder cars now have standard start-stop system to shut down the engine when the car stopped. A self-flagellation system called "Eco Pro" has added to the range of Driver Dynamics Control settings, it has the power to transform an ordinary 7-Series in a Prius, throttle response and off the heating or air conditioning strangled while stopped. Eco Pro also decouples the engine from the rest of the drivetrain during coasting at speeds of 30 to 100 mph. Finally, all-wheel drive is now on the long version of the six-cylinder 7-series. In the past it was only offered for the 750i and 750Li.

Hello, different hybrid system

The outgoing 7-series hybrid was not a winner. It was often uncomfortable to ride, and was positioned more like the Lexus LS600hL goal to give V-12 V-8 performance with consumption. BMW has the whole system for the 7 binned, fortunately, and the new ActiveHybrid 7 seems to make more sense. This new gas-electric setup configuration-based only in the long version is essentially the same as in the hybrid versions of the used 3 - and 5-series, coupling the N54 twin-turbo inline-six with an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic. Combined output is 349 hp and 367 lb-ft torque, lb-ft over the previous hybrid 455 hp and 515. Fuel economy ratings are not out yet, but BMW says that in European tests hybridized 7-series delivered a 14 percent improvement over a six-cylinder 740i.

Suspension, steering, and everything else

There are, to be honest, so many mechanical changes and new gadgets for the refreshed 7-series, which we need to buy a new computer server that had to list the rest of them. Here are some highlights:

● Active Roll Stabilization is now standard on the 760Li and is still optional on the rest of the way, it aims to reduce body roll through active front and rear stabilizers.

● A self-leveling air suspension on the rear axle is now standard across the board, and such suspension was previously available only on long wheelbase eight and twelve-cylinder models are available.

● Adaptive LED headlights are now available and come standard on the 760Li; replace the adaptive xenon headlights.

● The iDrive navigation and infotainment system to the latest spec.

● BMW Parking Assistant is now available, this function uses ultrasonic sensors to find a parking space big enough for the 7 and takes control of the car into the space. You know, if you are afraid of parallel parking.

Subtle cosmetic changes

Not for vehicles with all-LED headlights, the new 7-series looks at first glance, the same as last year 7s. However, there are some changes. The kidneys are overworked and more upright grille, and BMW has a major upgrade by vertical slats made. The lower part of the front bumper has also been redesigned, with a wide opening to give the 7 rather an anthropomorphic face.

Has the inside of the 2013 7-series, with very little change. BMW describes the front seats as a "leaner" than before and find several new color and trim combinations make their way to the options sheet. The roof line of the long-wheelbase models were tweaked only slightly, that says BMW adds a half-inch headroom in the rear. A Bang & Olufsen sound system is optional now.

How much and when?

Begin to arrive the updated 7-series models at dealerships this summer, the ActiveHybrid 7 will be available in early fall. Pricing has not been announced, but value. Only moderate increase from 2012 stickers that at $ 71,895 for a short wheelbase began six-cylinder 740i and asked $ 86,195 for the least expensive eight-cylinder cars

BMW M3 Review

The BMW 3 Series has long been considered the benchmark compact sport coupe has been viewed. In those already sporting car to new heights is the M version, known as the BMW M3. In the Bimmer world, the letter M is the company Motorsports Performance division. This fun-loving engineers tweak a specific BMW model the engine for more power, upgrade the suspension for more responsive handling and add sporty exterior and interior design elements.
During his two decades in the U.S. market, the BMW M3 has been a favorite of fans in search of sports-car performance and handling from a true four-place car. Although content to smoothly simmer while you daily driver duty, the M3 transforms into a back room-road burner when conditions allow and gives the pilot the ability to corners with precision and rocket attack from them with enthusiasm.
New BMW M3Based on the current generation 3 Series, the M3 is in only one trim level available under the hardtop coupe and convertible body styles. Both are from a 4.0-liter V8, good for 414 hp driven and 295 pound-feet of torque, the speed to be an exciting 8400-rpm redline. A six-speed manual is the standard means of transmitting power to the rear wheels and is a seven-speed automated-clutch manual transmission with optional paddle shifters. M3 also get specific hardware upgrades such as more powerful brakes, stiffer suspension tuning and a specialized limited-slip rear differential.
As in previous M3, the current model is well equipped with the latest in luxury amenities, which in this case includes xenon headlights, leather upholstery, heated sport seats and a 10-speaker audio system. The convertible features a stylish hardtop and sun-reflective leather. Features such as 19-inch wheels, heated seats, satellite radio, the iDrive navigation system and M Sport personalized performance settings are optional. The competition package on the coupe adds a lowered suspension, a wider track and reprogrammed electronic damping and stability control systems.
While past performance M3s were stars to honor the M3 coupe is quite simply one of the best cars on our test track. It accelerates from zero to 60 mph in a blistering 4.6 seconds and came to a stop from 60 mph in a very short 100 meters. The slalom and skid pad test results were also raised on par with far more expensive supercars, while on-road handling is beyond reproach. Getting the less rigid convertible builds these skills a little, but regardless of the body style you can expect to buy one of the most powerful machines for money.
Used BMW M3 modelsThe present generation of the BMW M3 was introduced in 2008 in coupe, convertible and sedan body styles. The latter was discontinued after 2011, perfect for those who want M3 performance but with a higher degree of practicality. Limited changes to extra features, and the first year models with less user-friendly iDrive system and some other sedan styling. The Competition Package was recorded for the year 2011 for the coupe and sedan.
The previous M3 lasted from 2001 - '06 and was in coupe and convertible body styles. It was driven by a single trim level for both a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine with 333 hp and 262 lb-ft torque. A six-speed manual transmission was standard, while a six-speed sequential manual gearbox (SMG) was offered as an option from the model year 2002. The latter allows the manual style shifting via paddles in the steering column, and although it was popular, we were not fans of their herky-jerky performance.
The changes were during the lifetime of this generation of M3 minor. A CD player as standard for 2002, while the following year saw the addition of a few extra convenience features and enhanced DVD-based navigation system. (The former CD-base was.) The only important addition came in 2005 with the Competition Package (Coupé only), which provided some of the powerful hardware of the European market, M3 CSL, such as 19-inch forged wheels, revised suspension tuning, quicker steering ratio updated, brakes and a less harsh track mode for the stability control.
Every road test of this M3 sang the car praise regarding his incredibly balanced handling, grip and amazing telepathic communication between car and driver. The disadvantages of this no-compromises sports car are few: could expect a stiff ride, tinny exhaust note and more wind and road noise in the convertible than you. For diehard sports car enthusiasts who need four seats, it is not much better than the BMW M3. However, these cars tend to be driven hard and owners to modify frequently, so it is important to check a used example, just before signing on the dotted line.
The second-generation M3 was introduced in 1995 and was a neat package, with its subtle sill extensions, tri-color "M" badges and different wheels to separate them from the common 3 Series. Together with a buttery-smooth 240-hp inline-6, this generation of M3 courted enthusiasts with their ribs power, finely balanced chassis and everyday life has worth. For lovers on a budget, this is probably the best deal on a used M3, a wide range of combined body styles (coupe, convertible and sedan), along with a variety of entertaining performance and an affordable price. The coupe ran across this generation of 1995 - '99, while the sedan (1997 and '98) and Cabriolet (1998 and '99) were brief and are therefore harder to find.
The first generation of the BMW M3 was the most radical. Period of 1988 - '91, this M3 was essentially an edgy, racetrack-ready version of a 3 Series sport coupe. These M3s presented aggressively blistered wing aft, slightly thicker C-pillars, which allows an aggressive canted rear window, and a higher trunk lid with a large spoiler. Under the extrovert body was not inline-6, but a highly tuned DOHC 16-valve inline-4, which cranked out, for its time, a very impressive 195 horsepower without the aid of a turbocharger or supercharger. An unmolested first generation M3 is a rare find these days and tends to require more care and maintenance than the second-generation car because of its specialized four-cylinder engine.

G-Power M3 RS program was hold on a simple principle: the car lighter and more powerful. Sounds pretty simple, right?

For us it is not. But G-Power, it's all in a day's work. Well, maybe weeks of work.

With the aero program chose G-Power to the M3, the full carbon treatment immediately, the sports car makes it easier and more efficient while simultaneously enhancing aerodynamics.

And then there's the engine upgrade, or should we say, upgrades. As the uncle who choose us, what kind of present would we make for our birthdays like, G-Power offers a choice of several changes to the engine, starting with one that improves the output on a "respectable" 520 hp to all the way up to a dazzling 720 hp.

Note: The standard M3 produces 420 hp so that spike of 300 hp is huge, to say the least.

While we are all waiting to see the new generation M3 Sedan, BMW decided to offer us a new special edition of the coupe version. The new M3 Pure Edition is designed specifically for the Australian market and is priced at $ AUD 125,000 ($ 131,400 at current exchange rates) low cost - or about $ AUD 30,000 ($ 31,500) under the standard $ 155 AUD, 100 ($ 163,000) M3 .

Despite its low price, this M3 has high purity. It offers standard features such as: Bi-xenon headlights, Professional navigation system, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, anti-glare rear view mirror, front and rear parking sensors and a new carbon fiber roof replaces the standard sunroof option. For the interior, BMW offers new seats in charcoal cloth and black leather, black Novillo leather headrests with embossed BMW M logo and Titan Shadow trimmed interior.

If the list of standard equipment is not enough for you, is BMW also offers a pretty impressive list of optional features: BMW M Drive, Dynamic Damper Control, Competition Package and Metallic Paint.

Deleted from the standard M3 package - help falling $ AUD 30,000 over the base price - are the keyless entry and ignition, adaptive headlights, high-beam assistant, Heated seats, Harmon / Kardon audio, CD changer and folding mirrors . This makes the Pure Edition, a pure driver's car with no real sign the bells and whistles, in addition to a monstrous machine, at home.

Unfortunately, this option is only available in the Australian market, and not look like it will make its way to the U.S.

Leaked VIN Reveals the M3 and M4 will be Less Powerful Than Expected

The next generation of the BMW M3 and M4, the new Coupe is its world premiere later this year, but a leaked BMW vehicle identification number (VIN) did just about everything there is to know about the two new models.

Previous proposed details that would be the new M3 to get a new six-cylinder engine with an output of 450 bhp, the BMW VIN shows that the next M3 S55 by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with an output get only 415 hp. That's not bad, but a bit daunting.

Despite the similar output, it was reported that the new six-cylinder engine will deliver an extra 100 pounds-feet of torque over the current V-8 engine. Same sources show that the new generation M3 will be about 300 pounds lighter than the current generation, of course, translates into improved performance.

The new BMW M3 will be made end of 2013 with first deliveries in June 2014 revealed that M4 is expected a few months later.

BMW Could Develop AMG Black Series competitors

bmw could develop amg black series competitors picture
A standard Mercedes C63 AMG develops 457 hp (or 487 if you add the AMG Performance Package). In the Black Series version, this issue is raised in an even more impressive 510 hp, so it's no wonder why BMW is now considering doing something about it. Finally their BMW M3 only 414 hp and delivers the next generation is no sign of improvement.

The only "hardcore" M3 is currently offered by BMW, the M3 GTS, but it comes with only 450 hp and it's not available in the U.S.

If rumors are true BimmerBoost, it looks like BMW plans to unveil one or two special cars in the coming years, and they will be offered in response to Mercedes Black Series model. The announcement was made on automobiles writer Marc Noordeloos' Twitter account has been booked. Noordeloos also confirmed that both models will be offered on the U.S. market. Even cars like M3 CSL, GTS and CRT will be offered to American enthusiasts.

We hope that this hold true, but we will keep our enthusiasm until we know what is coming to be seen with a Bimmer.
